NG ROUTE – Flight Planner ("we", "the site") is a free web application for IFR flight planning, primarily intended for flight simulation enthusiasts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data. Specifically:

• Usage data: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These are used for security and performance monitoring and are not shared with third parties.
• No registration required: We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the flight planner.
• Route preferences: Departure and arrival airports may be stored in your browser's URL or local storage for convenience. This data stays on your device.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage technologies for the following purposes:

• Preferences: Storing your theme choice (light/dark mode) and map settings in localStorage. No expiry — these remain until you clear your browser data.
• Session: Temporary data required for the application to function (e.g. cached route data). Cleared when you close the browser.
• Advertising cookies (current and future): We use or may use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing activity across websites. See Section 4 for details.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site uses or may use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve personalised advertisements based on your interests and prior visits to this and other websites.

The application fetches data from the following external services to provide its functionality. These services may log your IP address as part of standard operation:

• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather and elevation data
• RainViewer (rainviewer.com) — weather radar map tiles
• OpenStreetMap / CartoDB — map tiles
• aviationweather.gov — METAR, TAF and SIGMET data
• BigDataCloud (bigdatacloud.net) — reverse geocoding

We do not control the privacy practices of these services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes, then deleted automatically. We do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is present in standard server logs.

7. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
